About S Holdings


Founded in 1981 as a distributor of PC software in Japan, starting from the distributor, S Holdings expanded their Business to various industries such as telecommunication, mobile, e-commerce industries.
Today, the company is becoming a multinational investment holding company such as AI revolution.

Establishing Zero Trust as an internal network and adjusting a printing environment


In 2021, S Holdings planned to relocate its headquarter. With this relocation, S Holdings aimed to transform workstyles by utilizing Zero Trust security model with 5G network.
Zero Trust is a new model of network which is securing remote access to company resource from anywhere at any time in a single product. The concept of this idea is “never trust, always verify” by routing all communications connecting to the SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) with cloud access. UP to now, it is necessary to set a secure pathway over the Internet (VPN) through an authentication process with ID/password to connect an internal system from outside of the company. By transforming to Zero Trust, it enables internal and external connectivity alternative to VPN.
To utilize Zero Trust security, the printing environment also is required to enhance transformation with cloud access.
For many years, S Holdings had not changed its printing environment as it was concerned about decreasing user productivity due to installation of security authentication, however it realized that transformation of the printing environment is necessary to adjust its new workstyle and strong security network which brings employees to have access to documents data and print them out at anywhere.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation has tried to meet S Holdings’ requirements by collaborating with sales representatives and system engineers.

Raising the productivity and security up by cloud solution services


For establishing a seamless printing environment, FUJIFLM Business Innovation proposed solution with cloud print management.
S Holdings was recommended serverless printing which enables printing out from any multifunction-printer (MFP) at the office. When a user sends a print job to the devices, the job is on hold in MFPs and can be printed out from any MFPs linked with the network.
This solution also can provide the cloud workspace to perform document-related task such as viewing, sharing and editing documents. By utilizing a web browser interface and sharing document information on it, employees have access from various location such as from branch office, on the go.
Additionally, FUJIFILM Business Innovation proposed Azure AD authentication to link the cloud services such as Google Drive and Box. This authentication gives employees access to the full suite of the SaaS platform. Employees can log in each platform from anywhere they are working by Single Sign-On.

It faced difficulty establishing this security framework such as setting transmission protocols and communication ports, however FUJIFILM Business Innovation never gave up testing and verifying the framework repeatedly.

There are huge number of customers considering utilization of cloud services with high security as the former network model (on-premises model) is changing based on the work-style transformation. To meet customer’s needs, FUJIFLM Business Innovation continues to propose cloud solutions to build secure networks. However, it is also required to accumulate knowledge and experience to understand security and authentication technology. FUJIFLM Business Innovation continues to develop skills and experience of cloud solution.

This proposal became the basic solution which is for establishment of Zero Trust security model. FUJIFILM Business Innovation continues to provide support to enhance customer’s security network and work-style transformation.
